Digital Marketing Diploma Highlights

ABM College’s Digital Marketing program was designed to help cultivate students with forward-thinking programs and a combination of theory and technical skills to help make them versatile and well-rounded professionals.

This program aims to educate students on the skills required to design, implement and manage successful multi-channel digital campaigns. Students will learn to create actionable digital marketing strategies and gain knowledge to increase sales and market awareness of small businesses and enterprises. This program offers a comprehensive course that provides the essential knowledge and skills required in modern-day businesses.

Students will learn more about the fundamentals of Digital Marketing which includes:

Admission Requirements

Standard Admission

1. Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. 2. Passing score on the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam. 3. Passing score on the Accuplacer Test. 4. Successful interview with ABM College Admissions.

Mature Admission

1. Applicants must be out of high school for at least two years. 2. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age prior to admission. 3. Passing score on the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam. 4. Passing score on the Accuplacer Test. 5. Successful interview with ABM College Admissions.

Foundations of Digital Marketing

Course Description: The Foundation of Digital Marketing course provides an overview of state-of-the-art information including the best practices so you can design, implement and evaluate digital marketing strategies. This course covers a comprehensive overview of the fundamental pillars of digital marketing including customer resource management (CRM), email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing (SMM), copywriting, content marketing and more.

Digital Marketing Strategy

Course Description: This course is designed to develop and execute different strategies of building a digital marketing strategy plan. Students will learn about digital marketing objectives, content strategy, modern marketing management models, and will receive hands-on training of tools to define clients’ requirements.

Website Design & Optimization 1

Course Description: Students are introduced to different web tools to manage, maintain and update content on websites. It provides an extensive overview of the different platforms to develop and implement a functional website. Students will practice building and publishing a responsive, well-designed, high performing website that is aligned to a client's business goals. Concepts such as GDPR (web privacy) and Terms of Use will be explored within this course.

Business Communications & Email Marketing

Course Description: Students learn the skills of writing, copywriting, content curation, and professional interactions. The different roles of technology to enhance communication in the workplace and marketplace will be presented. Students will develop a strong understanding of email marketing and deliverability. Assignments will include hands-on tools and strategies with common industry-standard software such as Mailchimp, Constant Contacts, Send Lane and Infusionsoft to reach marketing KPI and goals. Concepts such as ethics, CASL and email privacy will be covered within this course.

Website Design & Optimization 2

Course Description: Students develop techniques using the industry programming languages and tools to address a marketing target. Project management principles will be applied to track and complete projects based on real business scenarios and aligned with integrated marketing plans. Students will experience hands-on projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Joomla and membership websites.

E-Commerce Principles

Course Description: Students will develop skills to design, implement and execute e-Commerce projects. Course provides a comprehensive understanding of e-Commerce concepts, electronic transactions, shopping cart and product delivery. Students will use e-Commerce platforms such as Shopify, Infusionsoft, WooCommerce, PayPal, WePay, Stripe and more.

Business Automation Tools

Course Description: This course will introduce marketing automation tools, CRM, sales pipelines and scheduling to students. Various automation tools will be used to create, manage and automate business systems such as Hubspot, Ontrapport and Infusionsoft.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Principles

Course Description: Students will explore using the power of words to create online visibility. Students will learn the anatomy of how search engines work, how to boost conversions and SEO strategy. This course will develop an understanding of the most commonly used search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing and the concept of online directories and submission strategy to rank higher in search engine using organic and paid search techniques.

Consumer Behaviour

Course Description: Students will gain an understanding of consumer behaviour through engaging research models including the psychological, social and cultural concepts to decision making. The course explores internal influences such as motivation and involvement, personality, lifestyle and communication and external influences such as culture, subculture, social class and consumer decision making.

Social Media for Business

Course Description: This course is meant to educate students on the use of social media to grow a business, to extend customer reach, and to expand brand messages. It provides scenarios to apply social media concepts and the best practices for organic and paid marketing activities. Students will learn how to effectively design, plan and execute campaigns, measure the quality of a campaign such as ROI, and meet business objectives. Students will dive into tools such as Facebook for Business and YouTube channels, and will learn how to navigate Instagram and Twitter platforms.

Mobile Marketing

Course Description: This course will provide students with a solid understanding of the rapid evolution of the mobile marketing environment. Students will experiment with user engagement on mobile, and create a marketing strategy, target segments, and measure campaigns using the localization of mobile devices.

Digital Media Production

Course Description: Students are afforded the opportunity to create and use imagery, video, audio, and different digital production techniques. The student will create and use a combination of simple typography, photography, video, and computer graphics.

Content Marketing Strategy

Course Description: Students gain hands-on experience, with in-demand skills for developing a content strategy and measuring its effectiveness. Students will become educated on creating and adapting messages to stories for different audiences, integrating text, images and audio-visual material, writing, editing, and delivering content to attract and engage audiences.

Business Plan & Project Management

Course Description: This course is all about the power of applying entrepreneurship concepts and strategies to create successful, deliverable business. Students will experience evaluating opportunity, competitive analysis, marketing, risk management and acquisitions. Project management tools will also be examined to achieve the necessary skills to plan, schedule and control a project timeline under time stress and different priorities.

Digital Marketing Analytics

Course Description: Students learn the tools for consumer research within the design process as it relates to digital marketing. Topics explored in this course include: Google Analytics, research processes and methodologies, with an emphasis on data interpretation and analysis.

Advertising

This course provides students with a practical foundation in online advertising and pay-per-click (PPC) platforms. Advertising media explore include search engine marketing (SEM), Google Adwords, paid social media ads, PPC, and more.

Methodology

This course is designed to provide strategic foundation in an advertising methodology. Students are versed in understanding behavioural targeting and profiling, and keeping customers engaged.

Practices & Ethics of Digital Marketing

This course explores the ethics that govern digital marketing and the different legislation for applications such as copyright, trademarks, privacy, PIPTA, HIPA, GDPR, and more. It also includes ethical best practices with an introduction to the legal requirements within digital marketing.

Capstone Career Prep

Students work with a professional career counsellor to develop and optimize a professional resume to put forward for employers. Additional support in job searching, interview techniques, and other career transition skills are offered to ensure students have the best possible work prospects.

Practicum

Students will gain practical and hands-on experience to apply the knowledge and skills learned in class to real-world experiences in a professional capacity.
