What inspired you to become a filmmaker, and how does photography influence your vision and storytelling?

Juan says, “When I look back and think about what could have inspired me to get into filmmaking, the first thing that comes to mind is the way I observed the world around me. When I was a teenager, I was good at visually reading places, environments, and situations, and analyzing people’s behaviour. Then I discovered photography as an art form and realized it was the tool I needed to translate my point of view into something tangible. That interest in images led me to study filmmaking with a profound interest in documentary films. Photography opened the doors for me to get close, to be patient, and methodical, and to look around and take the time to capture something simple yet meaningful.”

He further added, “I wish all the photographers a Happy World Photography Day.  I believe that photography is a powerful tool for telling stories and capturing moments. It is a way to bring the world closer and to inspire others. It has the power to change perspectives and create meaningful connections.”
